Volunteering abroad

 Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to volunteer abroad. If I could, I would go in a poor country with an organisation that gives free dental services to help poor people. I would volunteer for that because before I decided of going back to school, I've been working as a dental assistant for many years, so I could use my knowledge to help people in need. Volunteering abroad can be an amazing experience to grow, discover a different culture and to give help in an invaluable way. To be honest, I've had some opportunities to go volunteer, but I didn't go. Maybe, I was skeptical about the experience and scared that it might be tough to work in very difficult conditions, as the heat, the lack of material and to see poor people in their drastic situation. Also, before going on a volunteering trip you have to be ready to pay a certain amount to be able to go for it, and accept to not being paid in return. I hope one day I could have another occasion to volunteer abroad in another purpose than dental services.

 About  I'm a student at Collège Ahuntsic in the diagnostic imaging program. It is a technical program, which means we have five classes per semester, plus the regular classes like Philosophy,  English etc...The program is to prepare ourselves to work as a medical imaging technologist. On the job training

 During the past few years I've had several OJT in many different work places. The most difficult place to be trained was at a gardening place, in the middle of the high season. That was a OJT, but more of a coaching while I've had to work with clients. The fact that it was the high season was sort of a drawback because the trainer had to be the boss and he was very busy during the training, so I've had to learn fast and even sometimes find out the right way to achieve things on my own. Plus, at that time I didn't know much about gardening so with all the ins-and-outs to learn as a trainee I've had to learn few basics of gardening to be able to answer correctly to the clients. After few weeks of coaching through the days I've managed to become better and better.
